Some of the best California mountain and road biking can be found near Angels Camp. New Melones Reservoir has several trail heads available for mountain bikers of all experience levels from easy, flat terrain to steeper, more challenging mountain bike trails. Just a short drive east of Angels Camp you’ll find the Arnold Rim Trail, featured in the above video. The ART offers over 30 miles of mixed level single track and dirt roads through the National Forest surrounding the town of Arnold. Visit their website for trail updates and further info.
For road cyclists, the foothills and high mountain passes offer spectacular and challenging winding roads. A few of the more popular day rides are linked below:
