Doing Business in Angels Camp

If you are looking for a business location that has the largest regional customer draw, Angels Camp is it. Angels Camp—located at the crossroads of Highways 4 and 49—is centered in Calaveras County with Tuolumne County to the south and Amador County to the north. This 3-county potential customer base includes 140,000 residents, second-home owners and several million visitors that pass through the central Sierra region each year. Angels Camp represents OPPORTUNITY for our local and new businesses. In a December 2010 Retail Assessment Study conducted by Buxton Company, one of the nation’s leading consumer analytic firms, using a “drive time” trade area of 18 minutes, the study determined Angels Camp’s Trade Area demand of $385 million with local supply of $251 million, leaving leakage (demand being met outside the trade area) of $133.5 million. That’s Opportunity. In addition, visitors’ direct spending in the Trade Area in 2010 added another $150.5 million to the economy.
